The business of Calidus Engineering Ltd was founded in 1999, following 10 years of earlier commercial activity. Now, fully twelve years on, Calidus has entered a new phase in its development with a relocation to new, custom built facilities and the introduction of products aimed at downhole and subsea oil & gas and extreme geothermal engineering.

Calidus specialises in the development of downhole instrumentation and engineering to customer specifications but is now introducing a range of standard logging tools and components. Historically the company has provided a range of services and development capabilities including precision engineering, custom design, R&D, product development, prototype and product manufacture. Over the years we have produced many downhole systems ranging from basic production logging tools through seismic receivers to high power hydraulic actuation power packs.

The company is now based in Redruth, Cornwall, in a custom designed and built 17,500 sq ft facility that offers extensive office, laboratory, workshop (including a 130m deep borehole inside the building) and manufacturing space. Calidus is enjoying strong growth and expansion, currently employing 32 people with a target to raise this to 50 by the end of 2013.

The team at Calidus has a wealth of experience in designing and building systems for very harsh environments where our MO is "High Reliability Engineering" and "adequate" is not satisfactory. With an all round capability we can offer simple work load support through to major projects requiring extensive research and development, manufacture and testing. Our strength is the ability to really understand our clients' business requirements and translate them into workable solutions delivered by technically competent and easy to work with staff.
