The business of Calidus Engineering Ltd was founded in 1999, following 10 years of earlier commercial activity, to provide a range of services and development capabilities in the fields of precision engineering, custom design and consultancy with a long history of operations in the oil & gas industry, geothermal and aerospace technology. Based in Falmouth, Cornwall, Calidus Engineering Ltd currently employs 15 people.

Calidus Engineering Ltd has a wealth of experience in designing and building systems for very harsh environments where our MO is “High Reliability Engineering” where “adequate” is not satisfactory. With an all round capability we can offer simple work load support through to custom developments for clients with a full turnkey package from outline specification to finished product. Our strength is the ability to really understand our clients’ business requirements and translate them into workable solutions delivered by technically competent and easy to work with staff.

While this response deals with specific existing capabilities, the pace of change and development in technology means that we are always adding to and enhancing our capabilities, often in response to a client’s request to find a solution. Because we approach a problem from the clients’ side, rather than “pitching a product” one of our skills is being able to quickly and effectively assimilate and apply the resources needed for the project. A fundamental understanding of the physics and engineering combined with extensive development, manufacture and field experience has given Calidus Engineering Ltd a commanding world lead in the production of high reliability downhole systems.
