Foreman - Toolmaker / Precision Engineer

We are looking for an experienced, "hands-on" tool maker/precision engineer to supervise the daily running of a small but busy contract machine shop in Redruth

Jobs range from one-offs to small batches and from the simple to very complex, multi-featured, high value components with tight tolerances and fine surface finishes. Materials range from tool steels through stainless steels to nickel alloys.

The machine shop is a developing and growing resource with a range of manual and semi-CNC machines. The ability to read complex drawings and work to close tolerances in both turned and milled features is essential.

Duties will include:

- The supervision and time-management of a team of toolmakers/engineers (currently numbering 5 persons)
- Operating as a highly skilled toolmaker with abilities to solve problems and trouble-shoot
- Involvement in the quotation/pricing system
- Shop Floor Health and Safety

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the candidate must have proven supervisory experience and be time served he must be skilled in milling, turning & grinding to a high level, experience of wire erosion is not necessary but would be an advantage.
